This week's Body Poem mini-retreat focuses on the color Orange-Yellow and the quality Present.

Deep Listening: a tuning fork meditation with an image of the associated color.

***************

Just listen, breathe, and let the sound and color tune you.

The tuning fork tones used are C - G - B

Options:

  • use long and slow tones to vocalize the word "Patient"
  • visualize the color Orange-Yellow filling your energy field

Color: my thoughts on its healing properties

****************

Companionship is the quality that I feel most from Orange-Yellow. The earthy brightness of this hue invites me to soften my edges and enjoy relating to others. This color reflects my excitement about life and urges me to stay open to the possibilities that blessings may appear at any moment.

Word: a contemplation on the mystical energy it inspires

****************

At the center of all that orbits me is my present self. She is the still point in a dance with the chaotic life. Being present to life’s activities challenges me to listen, wait, and witness the moment as it unfolds. It’s a daily meditation to receive any gifts offered by the cosmos and to discover what I can do to support harmony and peace on earth.

Sound: a chant, tone, or simple song related to the poetic theme of the week.

Feel free to follow along with my voice or go on your own improvisational journey - harmonize, be rhythmic, play - simply take the time to be in your voice.

This Sanskrit chant represents to a bow to the teacher within and the natural wisdom that guides us in life. It is often used as a prayer for protection and clarity.

I learned the melody and instrumentation from Jennifer Berezan who told me she transcribed it from a recording she had on an old cassette tape.
