Below are three new additions to my Portraits of Rivers series.  Each one is a painting of the Mississippi River Watershed.  The first two are available for purchase and the third on was a commissioned painting.

The Green and Maroon rivers were created during the early part of the quarantine in New Orleans.  I stopped going out to Jackson Square for a few months and one of the projects I poured my creative energy into during that insular time was these two paintings.  I enjoy working within maps of rivers because I can spend time dreaming of traveling across the landscape with color and form. It was a helpful and soul filling kind of communion to take comfort in during a time of actively staying inside.

The Grey river at the bottom of the post is a commissioned painting I finished recently and am delighted to get to share. Fitting in the color palette of someones home into my painting practice is a fun kind of collaboration.

If you would be interested in getting a portrait of the Mississippi River Watershed (or any other river with which you have a connection) designed specifically for your home decor please send me an email at JLCampion@gmail.com
